It's my favourite book. Why? Well, it's sweet; it gives a level of optimism without being cheesy and trite; it's illustrated; you can use it like a bible (I do) and it contains the wonderful Doggles the Dog. I wasn't a huge fan of Generation X. I liked it, but it seemed a bit contrived. This book is beautiful. You have to kind of surrender to it to allow it to show its beauty to you. But the beauty is certainly there. This book feels like Douglas Coupland has let his feelings out onto the paper, insecurities and all, which you have to respect. Generation X seemed like a man desperately trying to be liked. This book is the same, but he's trying to do it by showing you what he's actually like rather than trying to appear "cool". Don't be put off by this review if you don't like it. Read the book anyway. It doesn't take long, and it made me feel like there was something other than what I expected to Mr. Coupland. Cheesy bit over.
