what's new:
12/5/99 : a few more tweaks to the pages. i am gradually converting the pages by author, although so far i have only done a, s, h and b and added an extra page dedicated to quotes by charles bukowski.
10/5/99 : some of you may have noticed a few things. that the site has been pretty inactive for ages and that today quite a lot has changed. i hope that you like the changes. i was getting a bit sick of the black backgrounds, not least because it means that many computers cannot print out the quotes. so, if you don't like the new look then you can feel happy about the internet bills that i'm saving lots of people, if slightly less happy about the dead trees. oh well. please leave lots of comments and stuff on the guestbook. if you're interested, i tend to get about 100-150 hits a week. not a lot, but enough to keep me happy, so thank you all. there should be more changes coming up randomly over the next few days (or when i'm bored) and a general purge of capital letters.
6/9/98 : quote of the week changed, along with the song of the moment. a few other things have been arsed about with too, so if you have the time or inclination, just have a look around.
31/8/98 : quote of the week changed. sorry for the delay. normal service should be resumed from now on. but probably won't.
16/8/98 : quote of the week changed.
7/8/98 : more quotes, and i've changed the eponymous quote of the week. i also sent out the first quote of the week by email today, if you want to sign up details are on the main page. also, samuel butler has won himself a section all of his own. and there is now a review of the torture garden by octave mirbeau up too.
6/8/98 : more quotes. i've also updated my news because, at long last i have a job.
5/8/98 : more quotes, including a section on russell. also, you now have the chance to get the quote of the week by email. so long as you promise you will keep on visiting the site. ok? just email me telling me your email address and name. thank you.
4/8/98 : more quotes and a few tweaks. changed the song of the moment too.
2/8/98 : added yet more quotes and changed the quote of the week. also tinkered with a few other pages. and i think the tinkering has helped.
29/7/98 : added a few more quotes thanks to rosie, steven and em. oscar wilde and voltaire now both have their own little sub-sections. a few more should get their's soon. and there's now a wee little quote at the bottom of this page too. and i've just arsed about with a few other things that aren't quite finished yet. just take a look around.
26/7/98 : added even more quotes. and pissed about the fonts and stuff. and now there's a wee little quote at the bottom of the main page. which i thinks looks very pretty.
25/7/98 : added a few more quotes, thanks to ben. and i've changed the quote of the week into a veritable monster. and i've updated the songs page too. if you can find it since it's somewhat obscure. although, of course you could just follow the link on this page...thanks again to my chum ben.
23/7/98 : well, this page is new. and i've arsed about with the look of the quotes by surname page (ie. got rid of the vast number of gifs that made the page take days if not nigh weeks to load) and created the new, but unfinished, quotes by subject page. and the guestbook is newish. well, not from today, but since so few people can be bothered to sign it, it needs every plug it can get.
"'What's new?' is an interesting and broadening eternal question, but one which, if persued exclusively, results only in an endless parade of trivia and fashion, the silt of tomorrow."
