Many will remember the first documentary on Ayia Napa 'Fantasy Island' which was screened on Channel 4 - England last year. Throughout the series it featured the ups and downs of Vas and Michelle the joint promoters behind Top Banana as they endeavored to get a date on at the Pasha club, (now the Kool Club).

Their legendary exploits paid off in the end and it culminated in a very successful night which packed out the club which was revealed in the documentary’s last episode. As a result Top Banana were firmly on the map and in hot demand this summer in Ayia Napa, Cyprus

. It would go without saying that their first reunion would be a sought after affair as well. It was held at the all new Lime club in Shoreditch, a stone's throw from Liverpool street and Old street tube stations -London England.

There are several clubs in the area, such as 333, Propaganda, Aquarium, however the Lime is the newest and evidently the most modern.

Very upmarket and chic. It has state of the art lighting throughout and quality sound systems. Garage/Rn'B sensation Craig David shot his video for his national number one single, 'Seven Days' at the plush venue.

The club has two floors with a winebar on the street level.On that floor George D, Tony Nicholls and Freaky Pete dropped the disco house selections complete with percussionists.

The nightclub is downstairs in a spacious as well as cosy environment. It was ideal for the garage dropped by DJ Phoenix, who is of course a regular at Twice as Nice night Club, London, England. She also appeared in the Fantasy Island documentary as part of Top Banana’s all star female dj line up. Other jocks that night were DJ Passion, RedTop and Danny Mather.

The MCs were Malibu and another star from the said documentary, the one and only Image. He was known as an up and coming MC on the scene.

I regularly saw him on the "Mic" at the Warehouse club in Edmonton,London and at other venues like Cream of the Crop and the Gass Club in London’s West End. The documentary helped to establish his name to a wider audience, and he is also known as 'Ayia Napa Image' on the clubbing circuit.

It was apparent that Top Banana was big in Ayia Napa, Cyprus because the place was packed out with up for it happy party people. The glamour set was out in force both male and female, everyone dressed to impress (or pull!).

Loads of pretty women. I am sure there were more ladies there than men, just like it is in Napa! The all guys and all girl groups of holiday clubbers were in attendance as they were during the summer. They were all only too eager to pose for group photos, and let slip the gossip of Napa which I wont reveal here!

Those who did not go to Napa to experience the Top Banana rave first hand, got the buzz from the documentary.

A few clubbers I spoke to, said they decided to check them out after seeing it. They were from all corners of London and a few from the regions as well. A tribute to Top Banana's fame from the documentary.It was great to meet Michelle and Vas who I saw in Napa’s square last summer. Little did I know that they were the main promoters and main subjects of a TV documentary. They are both friendly and down to earth despite the fame from the said tv series.

I saw the cameras filming out there and noticed them focussing on me, when I was going crazy on the dancefloor in Pasha. Maybe I was going too crazy because I did not appear in the documentary! Enough of my violin playing act!!

The Ayia Napa vibe was alive and kicking and MC Image kept the crowd hyper and involved with his mic skills, whilst they were getting down to the smooth garage sounds, dropped by DJ Phoenix. Yes it was one hell of a party. Ayia Napa and Top Banana was doing it at the Lime nightclub, London.

Look out for them next summer in Napa. As Vas said in the documentary “it is either Top Banana or Bottom Apple!” From the Reunion they came out tops for sure!
