Dear Steve,

With reference to my problem with a 2 year old SAAB convertible I bought last October from a SAAB dealer in the City, for you for your swift reply.

After two attempts to contact a sales manager they have finally managed to get back to me and are now considering what they will do, considering that I have had to return the car to them on two occasions already and must do so again because of continual bugs and faults.

I am expecting a reply from them today, 12\05 but bearing in mind their performance so far, it could be a week or nothing at all.

As soon as I have some news I will inform you.

Regards, XXX X.

At the time of writing, SAAB City have said that they will give me "goodwill" on the price of another SAAB which I will have to buy afresh of their show court. The sticking point is that I have to settle the current agreement that I have with SAAB finance all of which means that I will be out of pocket if I give the car back to them because they will give me a trade price to take it off my hands. The other alternative is to sell privately to recoup the sum needed to settle.

It all depends on how much their "goodwill" adds up to and I am currently waiting for that answer.

I'll drop you a line - full story - on resolution. In the meantime, a colleague of mine is looking to lease a SAAB but definitely not from SAAB City.

Regards,
