Artistry I (oil on board)

A small painting, of which there is a fully worked version on canvas soon to be put on this site.
Painted in Dollau, Mid-Wales, the branch frame contains either cracked glass or a spider's web. Or both.
(Sadly, this doesn't come out clearly on the scan.)

Another tree - not strictly a painting, even though it's in the 'Paintings' section, pedants - later used with other line drawings to accompany an article on ecology and the countryside in Country Life magazine, was a self-promotional piece, driven by the constant destruction of woodlands, paired with the cultural idiocy of spoiling 'attractions' by protecting them to death. Stonehenge springs to mind, but there are many other examples, see also the destroyed church on the Orford Castle page.
